Conceived By Dr Dave Cook, Senior Lecturing Biomechanist At London’s South Bank University, And Darren James – His Phd Student And Research Partner – The Technology Was Originally Designed To Activate Leg Muscles Through Three Vertically Integrated Density Shifts, Moulded Into A Seamless, Single Underfoot Piece. 

Walking Across The Densities, Cook Theorized, Would Create Slight Instability Which – In Turn – Could Engage The Activation In The Supporting Muscles Of The Foot, Ankle And Lower Leg.

In A Study* Conducted By Salford University In Manchester, Uk, Which Compared A Foot Walking In A FitFlop Slide Sandal To A Foot Walking In A Control Shoe, The Pressure-Loading Rate** In The Toes Was Reduced By 30%, In The Heels By 15% And An Overall Reduction Of 25% Was Measured.

Also Notable Was The Increase (8%) In Contact Area Between The Foot And The Midsole, Which Our Researchers Say Confirms Our ‘Microwobbleboard Effect’. (Because As The Foot Moves Across A Greater Area, Individual Areas Of High Pressure Are Reduced.)
