FitFlop sandal 20 step test

To ensure a proper fit, take 20-30 brisk steps in them, then look down to make sure your heels are not pushed off the back of the footbed. If they are, and the upper straps are too tight you need to go another size up.

Wearing FitFlop footwear for the first time

The FitFlop footwear has the potential to increase muscle activity in terms of workload. As such, we recommend that your wear your new pair progressively to avoid excessive muscle soreness.

•  Upper straps do not stretch

•  Please refer to product hangtags supplied with your FitFlop sandals for further care instructions.

To clean the footbed of your FitFlop sandals, wet the midsole, and scrub in circles (try using a handful of non-bleach laundry powder and an old toothbrush).

Do not put your FitFlop sandals in the washing machine or dryer and do not submerge them in water.

If your upper straps are made from patent leather, wipe them with a damp cloth or special patent spray cleaner. If your upper straps are made from softy or napa leather, we would only recommend using a special leather cleaner. If your upper straps are made from suede or nubuck leather, treat them with a suede/nubuck cleaner. If your upper straps are made from crinkled patent leather, wipe them with a slightly damp cloth.

FitFlop suede hoes have been DuPont coated for water and stain resistance. The uppers and footbeds are microfibre-lined and anti-bacterial AEGIS™ treated to help prevent odours.

If your FitFlop suede shoes get WET, stuff them with towels and let them dry naturally away from direct heat or sunlight for at least 24 hours.

We recommend cleaning the upper with a soft suede brush only. Specialist suede protectors can be applied from time to time to top-up resistance.

Follow the manufacturer's instructions carefully.

FitFlop Superboot Leather / FitFlop Supertone

FitFlop leather boots/shoes are built on microfibre-lined footbeds that are anti-bacterial AEGIS™ treated to help prevent odours.

To enhance the leather and improve water resistance, we recommend you polish your boots/shoes with a good wax polish. If the leather gets DIRTY, simply wipe clean with a damp cloth before topping up the polish.

Specialist leather cleaners/protectors can be used from time to time. Please follow the manufacturer's instructions carefully.

If your leather boots/shoes get WET, stuff them with towels and let them dry naturally away from direct heat or sunlight for at least 24 hours. Once dry they will benefit from an application of a specialist neutral-coloured leather conditioner.

The Toe-Post Sandal gives me blisters

While this is not a common complaint, we have heard that some people who have not worn a FitFlop toe-post sandal before get blisters. This is because the skin around the toes aren't used to the rubbing associated with the toe-post.

We also find people who have previously worn toe-post sandals and wear them again after a long winter, also experience some rubbing. The best thing to do is put Vaseline between your toes or wear a light plaster when you start wearing them.

If you have blisters already, we suggest wait for them to go down until you wear the sandals again.
