The History of Dr. Martens

Dr. Martens have always been synonymous with edge, style and coolness so it is no wonder that the 1460 (which is still in production today) was first released in England on 1st April 1960 – April Fool’s Day! The shoes were invented by the German Doctor Klaus Maertens after he was inured whilst skiing. His military boots were too uncomfortable and thus the notion of Dr. Martens were born.
