Workwear Style Rules! What To Wear This Season

Picking an outfit for work can sometimes seem like an impossible task especially as we come into a new season. As the weather starts to change and the nights draw in you can really start to feel the beginnings of Autumn. To help make dressing in the morning that little bit easier we have come up with our Top 5 Tips for Workwear styling this season.

Workwear New Season

1. A Coat Is An Investment

As the weather starts to get cooler the only accessory you will need is a good coat. If you invest in a timeless coat then it should last you years and is the perfect way to smarten up any outfit. A coat should be an accessory to an outfit and not something you just throw over the top to keep warm. Stick to simple colours that can be worn with any outfit.

2. Layering Is Key

Layering is something that is key to any autumn outfit, with the unpredictable weather you need to be able to quickly change from a warm to a cool outfit. Something like a lightweight jumper over a shirt is much better than a thick chunky knit as this is more versatile. Another great way to layer up is a scarf, a fabulous scarf can add colour or pattern to an outfit while also providing warmth and protection.

3. Don’t Compromise On Comfort

You spend a lot of time at work and so it’s important that you feel relaxed and comfortable all day. This is especially important when it comes to footwear, whether you wear heels, shoes or even trainers there will always be stylish and comfortable options.

4. Don’t Be Afraid Of Colour

Work can be dreary enough without having an office full of grey and black suits. Colour can be sleek and stylish and will brighten up any autumn day. It’s easy when choosing work outfits to get stuck in a bit of a fashion rut but a colour is a great way to break out of that!

5. Refresh Your Summer Wardrobe

A change in season doesn’t have to mean a completely new wardrobe. There are plenty of ways to adapt your summer wardrobe to fit the new season, pull out your favourite skirt and layer long boots or a pair of tights underneath. A summer dress can look great with a turtleneck jumper underneath.
